Case Study Schülp 2012

Schülp - Schleswig-Holstein - Germany

Winter 2011 - Dismantling of a Vestas V52 - 850kW constructed and installed in 2001. After only 10 years in operation for a repowering project of EWK EIDER-WIND-KRAFT GmbH & Co. Wulfenhusen KG, the turbine was sold after disassembly in parts. The electrical and mechanical components were sold to RWTH Aachen University to build a test bench for research. The tower with carefully dismantled foundation section went to Poland and the wings to the Netherlands. Transformers and transmissions were sold in Germany as spare parts. The foundation was removed and the crane pad for the repowering project of an Enceron E70 2.3 MW was enlarged prior to installation.
